Wifey. . ,
wow! That doesn't seem like a year ago!! How time flies!!!
Your conclusion (about not wasting a minute of your time with those you love) almost drew a tear from my eye. Very sweet entry.

ooooh, bel, I remember this. You were in heat. Willie was on his way out. Yeah, that was a hot night. A great night when Carl finally came home from that dreadful war. Thank God for that.

bel,
what can I say! Any woman who forgives her man for trekking dirt across the floor is my kind of woman! But quite apart from that, I like your warm-heartedness and your down-to-earth ways - Carl is a lucky guy, and I bet you he knows it!

Isn't it funny how we grow and yet stay together? I think having a family is the most important thing one can do, if there is the gumption to give it a go. I'm glad you two are doing well and I hope the next year is more fruitful than the last.

First of all what a lovely memory but more importantly it would seem that you have since set your priorities straight - family, time together, a good life, and to heck with the "small stuff". In some respects your ordeal and your husband's brave commitment has been a blessing. It has shaped you both into (different) but better people. Heartwarming story.

So true to season of joy and embrace of blessings Bel..
Wonderful, heart rendered post. This line: "I would rather have Carl's time than the overtime on his check" states the essence of love imo. Beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing.

The key for everyone, though, is not to give too much thought to all the moments you've already wasted ...
because you'll probably just end up wasting even more time, while you worry about it.
And then, probably end up driving yourself slowly insane, or something.
P.S. Very touching post, however.
If you ever go temporarily insane,
don't shoot someone like most people do.
Instead, try to get some weeding done.
You'd be really surprised.

OMG! It can't have been a whole year, can it???
I know it's been a rough year to re-adjust to "normal" life but I'm so glad he's home and you guys are a family again. (ps-we ALL live from paycheck to paycheck)
God bless you guys and have a very Merry Christmas.
