Which part? Grapes vines on a cemetary or ritualistic cannabilism?

Gome, I read that this type of ritual is symbolic cannabilism
Ancient humans used to eat parts of great animals and human enemies to gain part of their strength. They invented a way to do the same with gods so that they could gain part of the power of gods. Christianity included this practice in their religion.

SuccessWarrior - Yep, speaking of ancient pagan rituals
The deal with this blood and body of Christ thing is that those who partake in the cummunion ritual are supposedly becoming one with Jesus. This idea somehow transcends how morbid the notion of eating a person's flesh and drinking their blood actually is. I remember going through these communion rituals; the priest places a little wafer on your tongue and says: "the body of Christ" and you are supposed to respond: "amen"....... aside from being overly hoky it wasn't a big deal but the hype surrounding it sure was. You couldn't have the wafer touch your teeth because chewing Jesus wasn't allowed and if you did anything so foolish as take it out of your mouth and save it for later, you were doomed. Then there was the nun who told us about how someone bit into one of these wafers and it began bleeding. ....is it any wonder that some religions have completely lost sight of their underlying message with such efforts being put into eleborately fabricated traditions?

I know from your use of the emoticon that you were joking, but I'm being serious - I think it's easier to convert people when they're in an altered state of consciousness. If you ever noticed, when you go to certain churches, the whole environment is designed to produce a certain reaction, right down to the choice of music and the way it's played. It's very manipulative, if you think about it. Getting people drunk is another way to achieve an altered state of consciousness.
