TV, those are good points.
I don't plan on changing how I eat much and most people just go short term and then go back to how they were eating before.  I just think that if I'm not trying to lose weight, I can eat a little more here and there.  I won't be aiming for a calorie deficit.

I hate to burst your bubble
but maintenance is waaaaaaay harder than losing.  If it weren't 90% of those who lose weight, wouldn't gain it back.  I'm not saying this to discourage you but to prepare you.  BTW, I speak from experience here.  You no longer get that goose from clothes feeling looser, or the scale going down.  You no longer have a goal to shoot for.  People don't mention how good you're looking.  Your new weight begins to feel normal.  Saying no gets harder.  If you go in with the attitude it will be easier, you are likely not going to be prepared for the lifelong battle ahead of you.

Mademoiselle, you are probably right
Remember though that "a moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips."

I think you just have to "go with the flow" ...

and do "what feels right at the time" and "take each situation separately".

because it seems to me, you can't really go wrong basing your dietary philosophy on cliches.

Here's a good tip for when you go to the beach:
A sand dollar may look like a nice cracker that someone left,
but trust me, they don't taste like it.
