I have an answer for ladychardonnay ~
The short skirt was worn by warriors.  As too with women ~ it, as well as "war paint" as they call it, can be extreme methods of fighting aggression.  With a warrior, the object is to win no matter what; therefore, the weapons of war are honed to their strongest.  However, as with war, death is the end result.

I think the Pope should have set an example in his own family
before he tried to instruct the world as to how to accomplish a family successfully.  He's just a single man who knows nothing about the sufferings of women.

just an observation but....
speaking of dresses - why is it when i watch the old movies like Ben Hur - the women wore long dresses and the men wore short skirts???

Blanche. - the "Vatican protection program" is a reality however
One that I have seen with my own eyes. Most people only have an inkling of the scope of the involvement that the catholic church is guilty of in harboring its criminals. It instituted a highly organized and systematic means for criminals within its employ to evade prosecution. Primarily by transferring the perpetrators to different jurisdictions, stonewalling investigators and applying pressure to plaintiffs and their families. Once the overwhelming number of complaints put them in a situation where these henious crimes would inevitably come to light and to court, they took a "damn the children" attitude and acted as any soul less corporation would when faced with lawsuits.

Blanche. - okay, that's rather funny but it is not likely
Ratsinger would have been a young teen at the beginning of the second world war and only in his late teens at the war's end. I tend to believe the official version of his being in the Hitler youth (mandatory for all his age) at the beginning of the war and his being forced into the German army in the final months of the war. Despite that I view this man as a dangerous lunatic with far too much influence in a modern world, I don't think he had anything to do with Nazi attrocities.

Pope cave and Vatican Protection Program. I like it.

I'm like you Gome.  I like to see what someone has done in the area they are giving advice from.

About 3 years ago, here at the good ole Blogit, I was told that my weightlifting program would lead to me injuring myself.  It hasn't happened yet but with no time frame, I suppose it could be true somewhere down the road.  Anyway, I asked my good Samaritan how much she bench pressed (the exercise in question) and she replied that she never lifts weights.  Uh, thanks for the advice, I think I'll go with my route.

Now if I ever want advice on how to give baseless advice I can go to this blogger or the Pope.  They are experts.

This guy is scarier than your average Pope, Gomedome, he's mum on the
subject of his Nazi history. He gets to change his name and start a new life in what, the Vatican protection program, lol?
