TAPS,

My best friend's husband was the one who was sick and he died a week or two ago.

She's doing better than I probably would but she is really down.

Thanks for caring.

TAPS,

I'm still here.  I just haven't had a chance to get here for awhile.  I wrote you an email.  There has been an awfully lot going on in my life recently and I just have not had a chance to get on and blog.

Please be patient with me.  I just heard my grandson wake up so it doesn't look like I will get to today.  Darn!  I was just getting started, too.

Hopefully, tomorrow I will be able to get on and be on for awhile.  I miss all of you guys and gals.

Have you given up on blogging?  Its been almost two months now.  I know you are out there somewhere because I received your email warning.   We need a little update on the last information you gave us here about the sick one.  Miss you.

RAME, on the Holmes Life Stress Test, that woman''s score is off the charts
Each major life stressor is assigned a point value, and death of a family member is one of the highest, 100 or so, I think, so for her to lose so many family members and then have her husband sick, somebody better get her some support and counseling or the poor woman might just have a nervous breakdown.

OFFBEATS,
Aw, shucks.  Thanks.  Sorry it took me so long to get back to you.  I haven't been near the computer for a couple of days.  I have a tooth that requires a new crown and, now it has infection in it.  It hurt so badly for the last couple of days that I was pretty much out of commision.  The antibiotic has started doing it's thing quite well by now and I'm back for a few minutes until my grandson wakes up from his nap.

RAME, It is true what you say.  No matter how badly things get for us, there is always someone having a worse time of it.  I know that you are praying for your friend and her family.  I will join you in that.

I am sorry you and your friend are and have gone through such unhappy situations. The only good thing in this is 'through' it. It will pass. The memories don't but good will come and soften them. God bless you both.

Schatz,
Thanks for stopping in here!  I think you will do very well at social work.  Just make sure you get into an area you feel strongly about.  That will help make the difference.

Thanks for stopping by, RAME.
Wow. What a story! I am grateful to you for sharing your experience. I like to think I have the right mind set for that type of work, but I just won't find out by sitting on my butt. I am going to start out by volunteering and taking some classes geared toward a social work degree. My career profile says it's one of my best matches. We'll see. I'm glad to hear that you are feeling grateful. I know how hard that can be sometimes. Be well.
