I wouldn't have a clue about big city cops.
We live in a small city, less than 40,000 I believe..........There's a joke around town about one cop for every corner.  Truly, they are everywhere on Friday and Saturday nights; you can see red lights flashing on every corner while driving down our main street.  I'm a single parent and semi-raised (not all full-blood), three teenagers on my own while living here, while managing an apartment complex....these local police officers were at my beckon call for about six of the most trying years of my life.  They know me by first name, actually endearingly so...they call me Cherylann, lol. A truly different perspective.

I'm not sure I like that word, "execution."

Bravo!
My father was a NYC police officer for 30 years.  It's a very dangerous job.  His life was on the line everyday.  Which, in essence, means his life and the lives of his fellow officers were worth nothing more than their annual salary.  Police Officers deserve more respect, in general, than they normally get.  Thanks for a great read!

Excellent...and I certainly concur..I know I wouldn't want my sons to be police officers..I admire the job the police do and respect the authority. I believe they are their to serve and protect and they definitely don't get paid enough for doing it!

Very well said, and I agree. you couldn't pay me enough to be a NYC police officer. There are cases of brutality, but they are few and far between numerous acts of heroism.
