Go to A Distant Drum of the Coming Revolution

"My way or the highway," indeed!
What an apt choice of words for the subject at hand!

However, while I appreciate your sharing the story of the "Bridge to Nowhere," you miss my point. A Republican congressman did come up with this lamebrain idea, which ranks right up (down?) there with - ahem - Democrat Senator Robert Byrd's three Coast Guard facilities in his landlocked state of West Virginia, but the story I cited said Murray supported it.

And, yes, I certainly hope that there will be more bipartisan cooperation,
less macho braggadocio and posturing, less "my way or the highway" attitude in Congress, and some real work getting done,as opposed to the culture of egregious corruption we have now.

WriterofLight, no, I'm afraid you cannot put this on Patty Murray, (WA-D)
Here's the "rest of the story" from Salon.com. The Bridge to Nowhere is a Republican pork barrel project, by R-AK Don Young. And now the rest of the story, A bridge to nowhere
Alaska's Gravina Island (population less than 50) will soon be connected to the megalopolis of Ketchikan (pop. 8,000) by a bridge nearly as long as the Golden Gate and higher than the Brooklyn Bridge. Alaska residents can thank Rep. Don Young, who just brought home $941 million worth of bacon.

Writer, any wonder that politicians are one cut below lawyers in national
polls?
