funny story!  Hubby has totally taken over 'my' chair already so tonight he has marching orders to go get another one!

I love IKEA, too!
Most of the furniture in my apartment comes from there. I've become an expert at assembling their bookshelves! I've also got a dresser in my bedroom that took two friends three hours to assemble--but in the end it was worth it. IKEA is such a great place because their stuff is cheap but lasts long.

As I look around me, the couch is Ikea and so are the chair and ottoman
It's practically the first "real" furniture I've owned. (oh, and my writing desk that I bought 5 years ago is also Ikea).  God bless Ikea, you gotta love them.

I wish they would hurry up with the one they are building here in town.

M, my boyfriend, who works for a "large home design and home furnisthings"

store (not Ikea) has a funny story about Ikea.  He was working with a VERY gay man (I know, in Seattle, in home decor, what are the odds?), and a very gay couple (men) came in to their store.  They fussed and they sniffed, and nothing "spoke to them", then complained about the prices.

C, the gay guy who worked there, put his hands on his hips and said, in that way that only VERY gay men can, "This is not Ikea, Girls".  M and I still use that line as an inside joke, and it cracks us up every time.

Talk about priceless.

I miss Ikea...
They don't have one within 50 or a hundred miles of Quiet Town.  And I have this one wall in the spare bedroom that's just begging for the Ikea treatment... sigh.

Sounds wonderful, Nana.  Isn't it fun to fix up new homes?  I just love it, but I've done it too many times already.  I'm too old to do it anymore, but it was fun when I was doing it.

I love Ikea too and there's one just an hour away in Ottawa. Lovely homey scene you painted there kiddo, it felt like Christmas.

Neat!

Is Mr. Cat just waiting to jump into your lap and try your new rocker?
