Ah...the feeling of accomplishment at reaching the top of a mountain - I remember it well.  This poem particularly reminds me of the time three friends and I (late teens/early 20's) went to take a "short walk" on Whiteface Mountain. We were misdirected by a ranger to the advanced trail normally requiring a full day to ascend with ropes, etc., and ended up climbiing all the way to the top (after an hour we realized we couldn't just turn around and go back without ropes) and running down a less steep trail in 6 hours - just beating dark.  Those were the days....

Pub my bloody arse, freezing it off over night is part of the experience... LOL  Yes my Lady it can be a bit scary, you can get trannssed, I almost walk off a mountain in Switzerland some years ago...

It's just as scary coming down, isn't it, because you can see what's below.
...and gravity seems greater as you head down the steep slope, seemingly unable to stop in time. I'm only talking about hills as well, though.

I know that feeling very well and will be up hills galore next week.
We don't do tents though. We go back down to the pub and to a nice warm bed.
