He did say that if he ever needed to arrest me, he'd taze me.

Ok, then, well, since he wasn't handcuffing you, giving you a blood alcohol
test and asking to see your id. That's different then.

Blanche, he's one of the few cops that I get along with and
was just stopping by to offer me a ride and asking me to join the force.

Success, I think that may have been excessive use of force. You were only
out walking, it shouldn't be a crime, even if you had been drinking.  How else are you supposed to get home, rather than drive?  Let the pun-ishment fit the crime, I say!

Dave, I do that in written form so it may have escaped his notice
"I thought about being a cop once but I decided to finish high school instead."

I thought he was going to arrest you for criminal punning and rhymes.

In a casino town, yes they do.
Not as many now because of the colder weather but people are still out walking or staggering from casino to casino.

Walking at 2 am must be a different kind of experience
I don't suppose the cop sees many people out walking at that time of night

I remember I was stopped by the cops once for jumping a red light at a pedestrain crossing while riding a bicycle-everyone had crossed and the light were about to change. Anyway the cop let me go with a severe warning, over took me and a bit further down the road stopped at a green light, holding all the traffic up while he ran into a shop to buy a sandwich.
