Corbin,
being Belgian, I can tell you what - in my view - will probably happen. More and more people here are getting uncomfortable with the racist Muslims which we have to endure. Extreme right is gaining more and more progress, not only in our country, but in most Eureopean countries. Their enemy are the Muslims. I foresee something like WWII when Hitler gassed all the Jews. This will not go on. Even the Archbischop tells his congregation how intolerant some Muslims can be.

Other contributing factors: gay marriage, thence very low marriages of any sort, abortions means nobody but the Muslims are having children and families. This has been talked about even in the Protestant communities not just the Catholic the population is dropping to nothing except in this culture and they are infiltrating everywhere. I have been writing about their efforts to take over spots all over the world and the genocide they are performing, yet people are calling us on the plays they are making. It is sad that our country is blind as a bat!

It seems the liberals of Europe have had blinders on for a very long time.
When Britain's PM cried "peace in our time," he had nary a clue. The trend has continued, with European libs as usual being clueless as to the problems they face. Or perhaps they are aware but have been so concerned about PC behavior have done nothing to correct the problem.
Ironically, the loss of Christian values over there I think has done much to contribute to this problem. The Catholic church encouraged families to have children and to not use birth control. Christians have encouraged large families . . . but the Church has been relegated to a back seat and now the average reproductive rate for Europe (amongst Caucasians) is what, .75 or so kids per couple?
Excellent, excellent post. Keep up the great work!

Steyn's book is on my short list. What I don't get with all this death by demography stuff is why isn't there a "natural selection" for big Euro families? If the Left Euros are going down the tubs doesn't that mean more conservative Euros? It's like collective suicide. (SNAFU)

Naut.....
You hit the nail on the head....you gather data and try and put it together......build a viable position....but it's too long a read........now if we could just get our info into 100 words or less...we have a winner......go figure?

Corbin,
as usual, an excellent post, important and timely. As I mentioned to you in my reply to your comment in my blog (btw, thanks for the referral), I haven't read Steyn's book yet, but it's on order.
However, I've been familiar with the demographic developments in Europe for some time now. I haven't made much of it here because people seem to greet that sort of thing with a yawn. It's happening over there, so what.
One thing with respect to the US birthrate: the figure of 2.1 needs qualification. It is that only because of the disproportionately high rate among the Hispanic sector of the population, (not even including that of the illegals), compared to the traditional groups consisting of earlier immigrants. If you left the Hispanics out, you would end up a figure much closer to the European average.
The significance is that earlier groups, wherever they were from, expected to become part of the established American society, influencing it only 'organically', as it were. Many of the recent immigrants no longer have that goal! In the end, this will have a radical impact on the country's culture!
Incidentally, the same applies in this country. What was once identifiable as a 'Canadian culture' is more and more difficult to define. Increasingly, 'us' to many people no longer means 'us Canadians' but 'us Chinese-Canadians', 'Arab-Canadians', 'Muslim-Canadians' and so forth, with the emphasis on the first word...

Corbin - excellent post. Now I know why I can't walk around in Munich,
Copenhagen, or Glasgow without seeing Muslims. Those immigrants are a disease that will destroy the true birthplace of civilization, i.e. a liberal respect for law and humanity. The fertile crescent never cared too much about the humanity part of the equation. It really bugs me that, except for Asia, the rest of the world lets Europeans and North America build everything then comes in, pissed off at the world, and takes it over.
