They have a tribute to the fruitcake lady on www.nbc.com
She was an older woman, totally no nonsense. She started coming on the Tonight Show to talk about fruitcakes. She would cut people off and tell them flat out they were nuts. They brought her on every year at least. Then they started giving her a little segment where people wrote in to ask her opinion and advice. She's not exactly the soft shoulder to cry on.
She did cooking segments will all of the major stars who came on the show. Everyone loved her.
