- Go to I WAS CALLED INTO THE SCHOOL OFFICE - BULLYING!!!!
From one who fought back, finally...
get your girl into karate classes. Teach her to fight. A bully won't bother someone who might be crazy enough to try to clean their clock, no matter how big the bully or how small the kid being picked on.
We moved to a new town when I was 12 and for 3 years we were chased home from the school bus by a cluster of bully-boys. Then one day someone hit me from behind with a water-soaker ice ball and I turned and grabbed the first one I could get my hands on. Mother pulled me off or I'd have broken his miserable face and he deserved the black eye and the choke-bruises on his throat. Striking back ended the bullying. I taught my kids never to hit anyone, but if anyone ever hit them, they were to go on the offensive and strike the last blow.

Excellent conclusion, Symph. Sounds like a good school with strong
policies backed up with action. Stay vigilant, though.

I am glad that they are addressing the problem. Only thing
is they didn't need to punish the nursery kids to by having these girls sit with them ;-)

SYMPHONY, I'm glad to hear the bullies are being dealt with..
our one daughter, the older of the two, was always on the timid side and paid the price too often..

I do hope that in time they will do this everywhere, MaggieMae.
I have to admit I am shocked with how well, they have dealt with it...I did not think anything would be 'really' done....but wow....it's great!

it is a shame...that they don't do that in America..... Justi.
I didn't even know what they were going to do....so I am very pleased with the outcome.

Symphony, that is great. We have a lot of bullying here in our schools too. I wish it could be handled as smooth as it has been for your daughter. It's wonderful.

Awesome!
And Justi- it is happening in some schools. Just not nearly enough. But progress is better than decline, no?
What a relief Symphony. I'm glad to hear that your daughter is comfortable with what's being done, too. She sounds so brave for one so small and shy. Good for her!!

Symphony
This is just the best news. If we would do that in America we would cut back on some of the school violence. This is to be applauded. Thank God.
