Wow, that is awful....OFFBEATS!!!

I am so glad he busted his ass to ebay though (can I ask how he contacted ebay, as I need to report that woman, who wont give my money back).....good on him for being so quick and smart to know what this bloke was doing...well done to your relative.

bloody ploys, need to be bought down a peg or two....

I am learning now...about bidding, whereas before I was bidding, and people keep outbidding me...I have now realised I must watch the item first, then bid for it, with one minute to go or something like that...like everybody else.....Dammit...I am such a slow learner.

I am watching many items at the mo.....I must remember to keep checking them before they end....LOL

ANYWAY.....Thanks so much for sharing this with me.....I knew I was right, LOL.

I wanted to tell you what happened yesterday with a relative of mine. He was bidding on a fireplace on ebay. He is also a power seller and buys regularly off of ebay. He placed his bid for the fireplace (there was no reserve) and when he did a bid came behind and jacked the price up by more then 40 dollars. He took some time and looked at the bidder. Here it was a man who had 2 account and one of them was the sellers. Yes it was the seller bidding up his own fireplace. I asked why didn't he just put a reserve on the darn fireplace? Well it costs more to list with a reserve. Anyway, my relative emailed him and told him what he had found out. He also told him he was the type that gave ebay a bad name. Then he turned him into ebay along with all the evidence he had found on this seller in his other auctions. I told my relative this was happening to you and that I was going to share his experience with you...

That's why I buy new from "normal" shopping...

Lol...Yes, I've won one or two items that weren't what I thought, but that was my own fault in a way...I wasn't able to read the item description properly.

About getting that money back...Keep pushing.  If she's done this to you, God only knows how many others she's ripped off.  Don't let her get away with taking advantage of you.

I really don't buy anything from ebay

I think you are absolutely right, Symphony.  I don't bid until the auction is just about over.  That way I don't overpay - at least, in my mind.  No, I don't think you should keep driving th e price up.  Watch the auction.

I've never bought or sold on E-Bay
I have never been tempted to join in the trend

Well stop bidding it up and put a sniper on it. That always yields the best price. Good luck with this and yes I firmly believe in the ploys..In fact I have heard of the seller being the ploy by using another account and screen name....

I'm like you....I bid until I win. No wonder I'm poor. LOL

I've always assumed ebay was a scam.

Although, that's not really based on anything. I just like to make broad assumptions on topics I know nothing about.

Broken promises don't upset me.
I just think,
Why did they believe me?

I wonder about that sometimes. If the same person is bidding on all the
items.....but then, I tend to be somewhat of a conspiracy theorist at times LOL. I don't know, but I doubt she'll relist them. Will you please post her ebay user id so we can spread the word? I think you should publicly humiliate her. Let us know who she is and where she is....then we won't fall for her tricks!
