Echoing Azur here. Stay on the case. Those girls clearly have not got the
message yet and they need harsher words or actions from the head. Letters home for definite. And it seems like when they couldn't pick on your kid, they picked on another one instead. Stay on it by pestering the head, but try to steer clear of direct approaches to the children or parents. Keep that as a last resort, letting the school authority act first.

I'm sorry your daughter has to go through this...it's a shame when Parents
don't know that their own kid is bullying another! And yes, SOMETHING should be done!

Keep a record of what the bullies are doing and report them.
Meanwhile don't let your daughter walk home alone!

I am pleased to see that at my kids' new school there are posters
EVERYWHERE announcing that bullying hurts, is wrong, will not be tolerated, etc.
Good job mum. Keep up the good work. I have to agree, you should let her walk, just keep your sharp eyes peeled for danger, and if you can, set out to give the parents an informative lecture. Blessings on you and your household.

I agree you should keep reporting them and urge other parents to do the same against bullies. They are a danger to all children. Be blessed.

Symphony
Certainly their parents need to be notified but whether they will care is another matter.
IN the meantime, imho the walk home should not be snatched away. Do as .Dave suggested, have a pretense for walking nearby and let her build her confidence. The bullies should not dictate. Civil people should prevail.
Write a letter to the head teacher setting out your thoughts and requesting that they advise the parents because you regard safety and civil behaviour to be of the utmost importance. Do they wear a uniform? Let the teacher know that it brings the whole school down if this behaviour is not dealt with and people will associate the uniform with poorly behaved children.
My son walked to and from school in a similar environment from age 8 and I was ill and had no way of taking him. One thing was that people along the route knew him and would say hello every day. There must be some other people on your short route home every day that you can advise as well. The more good people on side the bnetter. Ok, I've written a flippin' post here.

You did the right thing, Symphony.
The sad thing is, not all parents can monitor these things as effectively. It's so difficult these days to have authority over kids. The system backs them up too much - the wrongdoers, I mean. The school should take punitive action. I hope they do.

I'm glad your motherly instincts were sharp.
You're lucky the teachers were there too. I hope you can get in touch with those kids parents and let them know what's going on.
