- Go to U.S. income tax is done under voluntary compliance?
Pat, too many people are looking for shortcuts
that end up being more expensive than the initial problem.

Urban legends move fast and grow quick
on the internet. Urban legends like "voluntary" income tax and contractors who scam folks who've already been knocked down by Ma Nature aka Katrina, or the idea that seniors can live better if they sign up for a reverse mortgage, or some kind-hearted guy is waiting to give you a lump sum NOW for a structured settlement that would provide dribs and drabs of income over a long period of time.

TV, that's my thoughts.
My wife and I decided you could pay taxes or lawyer fees.

I've seen these people
who claim you don't have to pay. They teach seminars to educate you about the actual law and teach you how to navigate the system. But I hear that those people usually end up in jail for tax evasion. I don't know. It's probably true that it is voluntary compliance somewhere deep within the tax code, but do you really want to deal with the monstrosity that is the US government trying to prove it?
