If they SAY you're crazy because that way they can get rid of you and save their butts, then you might end up BEING crazy.

Robert Heinlein wrote a great novel on this subject...
Job – I recommend it to all who enjoy Gome's comments. Heinlein takes the concepts of God (as Christianity personifies him), and Satan, and looks at it logically. I promise you will be surprised, and probably delighted at the (predictable) outcome. You can purchase the book through the following link:

What is being spoken of here is fundamentalist christians, meaning those with a set point of view and frame of mind, who have no tolerace for the beliefs and practices of others.

I think, if all that were true, we'd all be in a HEAP of trouble.

"What if" sure is a big question, gomedome!
Interesting point of view today! I like reading your entries because they cause me to exercise my brain and lead to me examine my faith. Thanks!

SuccessWarrior - bite your tongue and wash your mouth out with soap
There are plenty religious crazies out promoting that idea already, with them of course not included in the cleansing.

Schatz - Noah's story is quite a yarn - I had it presented to me as a
factual account when I was a child.
You make a very valid point. Apparently this all knowing God isn't very good at predicting outcomes, there are a number of dramatic actions undertaken by this being that have simply failed.

Funny you should mention Noah and his ark today....
I was driving the other day and wondering about Noah and the ark. I haven't had a lot of formal religious training, so I don't know the specifics of the story, but wasn't that flood supposed to wipe out all the wrong-doers? So what the hell happened? How did we end up with so many baddies still left? It doesn't seem like (suspending my beliefs about the scientific view of the way the world has evolved) that flood wiped out much of the evil that it was supposed to. What a bummer to have gone through all that, and still end up with all of us infidels. LOL
