according to many, STDs are punishment from God for sinful behavior. So if you believe that, then using STDs as an example actually says a lot. For you and I it seems a little weak, but for believers it should hold a much stronger meaning.

and well it should
religion doesn't deal with the human individual
it deals with condemnation.
and condemnation give rise to guilt, gives rise to crime, etc.,
also, religion is a very selfish thing -- excludes outsiders.

kooka_lives - in reading the article, some of the connections being made
seem a little tenuous.
The STD conclusion being one, but the underlying premise has some validity. Over my lifetime it has never been demonstrated to me that believers have a more solid moral foundation than that of non believers. Collectively, they have only managed to convince themselves that a belief in God provides a better moral foundation over that of the non believer. They haven't as a whole actually achieved a more solid moral foundation or are able to demonstrate it in any meaningful way.

Kooka, all we have to do look around or be with several people
for a few minutes and your assumation is proven. We don't survey or studies for proof of this. Belief in God ought to make a difference in my life but sometimes I do not live as moral a life as I should! Keep writing,
