Faith comes by hearing? But my mother is deaf.

ariel,
no matter! Whether people like it or not, let us two heathen continue to sound the alarm! These Christians need all the help they can get...

while i can appreciate that not all people want religion mixed in with

education, i'm in full agreement that we, the adults, could work harder at promoting good character to our children, or, to lift and slightly alter george's words; "a sense of obligation".

people talk about sports figures and entertainment industry types as role models ( as if!) but we're all role models, camera on us or no.  it's the responsibilty of all of us to lead by example, no matter how subtle the leadership.

Naut

Came across your comment by chance. I guess people are bit fed up with my banging on about precisely what you write.

Talk about Christians awake! if we don't all damned well wake up we're gonna go into an endless night.

Justi,
you know that I am an agnostic. But as an agnostic, I consider it a disaster that your traditions, as well as ours, have been and are being, discredited, denigrated and discarded.

What has happened
to great politicians who stood by their own morals and belief without the concern of what public opinion is or if what they were saying was politically correct or not. Strong individuals will be supported even if those supporting do not agree with all they say.

TAPS
I only fight with the bone heads. I must stop doing that they don't know what they are doing. But I am proud of any little bit of progress. I am looking for another good Religion post from you. Be blessed.

Ha ha ha ha . . . .

I did hope the title would not give you chest pain.

(I just had to have a little fun, my dear Justi.  In all seriousness, I loved those paragraphs from our first President.  We need more of that sort of stout hearted faith!)

My dear Justi -- you should be ashamed!

To think that an upstanding citizen such as yourself should be caught promoting RELIGION in the public sector!  What an egregious and politically incorrect thing to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  And my word but I am appalled to think that they did not impeach our first president for espousing so clearly such staunch Christian values.  My oh my.  [Thank God for Thomas Jefferson's missive written to the Baptist Association of Danbury, Connecticut, whereby he so clearly laid forth (with the strength, it would seem, of the full Constitution) his concerns that the church be protected from the state and all its potential evil machinations.]

After all, isn't this a secular nation?  And were our founding fathers not all deists or agnostics?

I would imagine that such overtly religious (not to mention inflammatory) speeches such as Pres Washington's are completely non-meritorious. I am so very thankful to know that they are restricted from the minds of our precious and so very impressionable school children.

We can rest in peace knowing that our children, instead, are being fed the doctrines of ACLU and . . . .

What exactly are our kids learning in their Government classes???  I'm afraid to know.  But surely it's better than all that religious nonsense!
