I think people have the right to choose
and no one should be forced to follow what they do not believe in as long as what they believe does not effect those around them.

I disagree
I think the West has a serious Islamophobia, develpoed by the likes of Mr. Bush and terrorists like Mr. O.B. Laden. I can undertstand that no matter how stupid, Mr. Bush is the leasder of USA. But why the heck has the west started to hide its chicken upon 99% empty threats of Mr. Laden.
ok.. Now it's ok to remove the ten commandments from U.S. Supreme Court, but it's not ok if an asian is calling his home to talk to his friends/family? Must you tap his phone call without getting a warrant from a judge? Now where is the right to free speech in that...
France herself takes pride in religious freedom and equality for all.... But this hypocritical step targetting Muslims will trigger a feeling of illwill in the hearts of most moderate of Muslims, even those who do not wear veil or religious symbols at all..
Just my 2 cents...

I don't think the parents should force their children to wear a veil but I think they have a right to wear whatever they want (complete individual freedom). It's not an important issue and if there wasn't so much talk about it, maybe it would sort itself out and be forgotten. The government does have an obligation to protect children from dangers such as forced marriages and female circumcision which are important issues.
