I used to stargaze every chance I got. I don't remember much the looking at individual stars and planets as much as the feeling of limitlessness.

Thanks for the kind words. It would be small-minded to think we are alone here. But, I guess egocentricity can and does exist collectively.

Your writing so enchants me. Of course I think if we believe we are the only ones in this vast universe (one of millions) we pretty darn vain...that doesn't not contradict my firm belief in my God...but then again he already knows everything..

That, like the brilliance of a supernova, was a superbrilliant piece!

Thanks. It might behoove me to go star gazing again. It really puts things into perspective.

Yes, I think
puerile would be a good word to describe it.

Indeed, it is. And, it's something we forget all the time.

Red dwarves, supernova, and black holes, Avant Garde, the life and death
of stars, written in them. I didn't know about Bootes or Cetos, the signs of the heavens. We're just a speck among them all.
I love your verbal landscapes, you paint the picture so well.

...yes, we do tend to puff ourselves up a bit... when in reality we live in
a remote universe, in a mediocre galaxy, revolving around an average sun... and to think we're the only ones... is just plain... silly...

To think that a star you see twinkling tonight went out before
you were born is mind boggling. Puts a whole new twist on twinlke twinkle little star.
