The workaround suggested by missann, i.e. copying the text from Word to Notepad, then copying from Notepad to Blogit, is an excellent one.
The reason for this issue is that on the Web, paragraphs typically appear with a blank line above them. To insert a line break instead of a paragraph break when typing in the editing box, press Return while holding down Shift. For example:
This is the first line [here, I pressed Return while holding down Shift]
This is the second line

Double Spacing Dilema
I was having this same problem. Now I place all my poems on the
notepad on my computer. Save it on notepad.Highlight the entire poem
then hit "edit" then hit "cut". Now go to "write" page of blogit.
(Make sure cursive is showing in the page section and not the title
section.) Now hit "edit" then "paste". You should now see your poem
in the blog page. All you have to do now is enter the title of
your poem in the title section and post. Hope this helps. It always
works for me.
