a few bands i hadn't thought of -- and a few i couldn't think of -- thanks
about guns'n'roses -- yes they were after 1980 -- but their following mainly was from those born before 1980.
and I do perceive them as being in the lineage, you might say, of the great bands, because they did make music.
What I want to do here is show the contrast between the innovative and creative music of that era and the heavily produced, stock, standard, formula music of today, where a pretty face (body) is chosen and music written that hides the singer's lack of musical ability.
