"Rich" is a subjective term, homegirl. However, let's just say ...

she could afford it if she so chose.

Oh, and also, there are no good schools locally ... well, except for the one I've already been kicked out of.

I don't understand...

a car to drive from Philly to NY every day???

Unless you are rich (i.e. your mom is rich) that is an unreasonable request.  It would make more sense if your mom and you stayed in a hotel during the week, or you just went to school locally.

Unfortunately, Fiona, at this point, I'm not 100% sure either of those events will ever occur.

I appreciate you saying that, Troosha.
And, I suppose such generational conflicts are quite common.

Well, my mother doesn't have to worry about me having children, Frankenkitty ...

At least, not intentionally.

The problem, Ann, is that I hate driving into the city ...
I fear I'll get confused and end up in Brooklyn, or something. Kinda like in "Bonfire of the Vanities"!

The fighting will pass
when you leave school and the house.

Mothers:

M           Money funny
O          Obstinate
T           Trying
H           Hungry for our love (but go about it the wrong way)
E           Exasperating
R            Rabid

As you can tell I have a challenging relationship with my mother as well.
Glad you’re feeling better Mademoiselle – I’ve missed your wit.

That's funny about the Gibbons! LOL
Sorry you're having such a time with your mother.  My mother couldn't wait for me and my siblings to move out.  Unfortunately for her, we all moved back, and with babies.  I guess it's some sort of cyclical punishment system built into the universe. At least she only had 3 kids. Her mother had 7.  Good luck and take care

There might be a remote chance that you can get a car pool. Lol.

That's very sweet of you to say, Schatz.

Well said, fourcats ... I think.

They just mowed the lawns around here, and cut grass always makes my head hurt.

posted by Mademoiselle on October 16, 2006 at 11:02 AM | link to this | reply

Good point, blackcat ...
That certainly was an apropos location.

You would still think they might have noticed a foreign object, bandana.

posted by Mademoiselle on October 16, 2006 at 11:00 AM | link to this | reply

Well, I for one am just glad you're back. I hope you're well.

posted by Schatz on October 16, 2006 at 9:40 AM | link to this | reply

well thank goodness! so good to know you clearly have your priorities in

order, phew!

i'm surprised there even was an argument about the private car.  how can your mother not understand what drives you?  it's a standard solution; putting the brakes to an unpleasant situation - your aunt giving you the gears.  perhaps a shift in her thinking is required.  by now, her responses to you should be automatic - "yes, dear".  otherwise, it's all just tiresome and exhausting.

LOL... well, at least it was in the monkey house?
I'm not sure that the other animals would have enjoyed it much.

it's really small (the recorder).
I think I told you before that I've always wanted to be an undercover, like those people working for "Cheaters" (the tv show.)

Thank you so much, TAPS.
I really appreciate you saying that.

They didn't see the recorder laying on the table, bandana?
And yes, Manon is french.

posted by Mademoiselle on October 16, 2006 at 8:15 AM | link to this | reply

Mademoiselle, There's no humor quite like yours.  Even in the gravest of situations, you make me laugh.

posted by TAPS. on October 16, 2006 at 8:06 AM | link to this | reply

Is Manon French? I haven't met anyone named "Manon" before.
Actually, I've never met anyone with your name, either.

posted by bandanafish on October 16, 2006 at 8:05 AM | link to this | reply

Not true.

I simply set the recorder on the table, and they recorded themselves (even though they weren't aware of it.)

This one chic said: "Oh~~ I love Chanel."

Other chic: "Me too... but I don't have any."

posted by bandanafish on October 16, 2006 at 8:02 AM | link to this | reply

I actually have a post coming up that is a direct transcript of a conversation between Manon and I.

It's really idiotic.

Well, her part is, anyway.

My part is quite brilliant, actually.

posted by Mademoiselle on October 16, 2006 at 8:00 AM | link to this | reply

You go around recording strangers' conversations?

P.S.

posted by Mademoiselle on October 16, 2006 at 7:57 AM | link to this | reply

What else did you do this weekend?
I went to a coffee shop and recorded these two girls talking.

good question. Let me think.
(you smarty pants.)

not cute!
You know how much I get... you know, yet, you still. oh, I don't know what to do with you. Zero idea. 0.

..... who?

(I need to tell you something unnecessary.)

posted by bandanafish on October 16, 2006 at 7:18 AM | link to this | reply

Oh, yeah, she's certainly no Catherine Keener.

Did you know that I know someone who (supposedly) looks just like a young Marcello Mastrionni?

posted by Mademoiselle on October 16, 2006 at 7:17 AM | link to this | reply

Infamous.
It might be because I don't like Sandra Bullock.

posted by bandanafish on October 16, 2006 at 7:13 AM | link to this | reply

Whose casts?

posted by Mademoiselle on October 16, 2006 at 7:11 AM | link to this | reply

Isn't he just so creepy?
I don't like their casts. I watched part of La Dolce Vita yesterday.

posted by bandanafish on October 16, 2006 at 7:09 AM | link to this | reply

Good morning, bandana.

Oh, I saw "Infamous". It's terrible.

And Toby Jones is creepy. Although, he really does bear a strong resemblance to the real Capote.

Wow, Factor!

How perceptive of you.

But no, you're wrong, actually.

One of your "children" was eaten by another?
Just a guess as to the death in your family... perhaps I should not make light of it, but something tells me this is along the lines of your deathly ill experiences...

Ya, they really were noisy, ladychardonnay.

I had to shout even louder just to be heard over them.
