A sensitive response. your probably right about the father thing, i guess i'm raging at the malign manipulation by those who use peope's fear of their own mortality to further their own selfish interests. And yes it is scary.

It can be slavery, certainly, but in most cases it's probably more of a longing for a kind father figure. Being without religion to many people would be scary, like being thrust into the world without a family to look after you. Well there's not just the world, and human society, there's the whole universe, and evil, etc, and there must be someone to look after us - there just must!!! Where are they then? Good question, mate. Make up yer own answer to that one. Everyone else does.
