What a frickin' headache. I feel for you, SYMPHONY.
Dealing with the phone company is SO frustrating. They know we need their services, and I think they feel like little gods when they feel like being rude and ruining the consumer's day. I hope you didn't "accidentally" get disconnected time after time, or "stuck" on hold. That really sucks! I just recently went through similar banking issues myself. It'll all get better. It has too!

one word of explanation...
hackers. kids or older - hacking the phone lines by numbers. They need not know you, most likely don't. it's their way of getting "free" phone time.

Some sort of fraud or computer errors...
I imagine you can eventually get it straightened out if you keep after them and get copies of records and whatnot. It will be a hassle for sure, but try to stay calm and the customer service people will be more apt to help you out.

Honey it will get worked out. That is terrible. Make the bank show where your funds went. Can you do anything to those people for harrassment? I don't know what is in the air but it is going 'round. TAPS just wrote on this. Please send me your e mail soon as you change. I don't want to lose touch and I am on less and less now. I'll pray things get all clear and you get some peace and joy soon. Azur is correct - you need to calm down and write it all out clearly
You should get a proper response when they see you have a legitimate complaint. Tell them if it is not sorted out you will go to your local newspaper or local radio station. They will not want bad publicity.

now my one of those is nowhere near the numbers....I never even gave it a thought about us having different keyboards.....although I do have your $ on top of the number 4......how weird.
I tried to take a photo of my keyboard to show you...but it kept coming up dark so you can't see it...so no point....LOL

It is maddening
our phone line was once tapped and hundreds of international calls were made from my number. Fortunately I had more luck with the phone company and the charges were reversed. I would never have been able to pay the bill in any case. People who do not allow one to speak to somebody in authority really piss me off. They are not in the position to make a decision yet feel they can hinder you in speaking to someone who can. I can understand your frustration

It sounds like someone has spoofed your number,
a form of identity theft. It also sounds like the phone company has a prereuqisite that all customer service reps have to have lobotomies, leaving only the "I'm a complete asshat" brain cells intact. Get your records together, formulate your response, and then legally shove it up their collective butts. Get legal help if you have to, but you shouldn't have to take such unmitigated bullshit from anyuone.

I've been through this before...Good thing you've cut them off before they have a chance to drain you of more money. Is there any way you could ring your telephone service and see if they could possibly tell you who made the calls?
Sadly, even without access to your property, there are ways people can lay hands on your telephone number and internet access. My sister's ex-boyfriend called her at one point to tell her he'd gotten hold of our phone number and internet information. She promptly reported him to his naval officer and he was sent to the brig for attempting to stalk us.
I don't blame you in the least for being so angry. Best wishes. Keep me posted...

it is so annoying!!!! ladychardonnay...
I cancelled AOL because I kept on crashing and such...but later found out from a friend that it was because I was using an extention which interfered. I have moved my computer now....I might go back with them...there is so many internet services to choose from...some are not around my area, others not sure if they are any good enough...this is all frustrating...

board and write to them tomorrow...I am so very angry...that to write to them now....well, put it this way I probably would not be professional about it at all.
whatever is the outcome ....I refuse to pay it.....I know for sure that it is not anything to do with me...the snotty nose woman...would not even give me the time a day...she made me feel like a liar.
they have already taken two payments from my account,....which is said was the fee to set up and the connection and so on....they told me that they never recieved the payments....but then she changed it to she did recieve them late...but the outstanding amount is still needed to be paid (£300)....I am glad my bank refused it (not glad about the charges because of it though)
I cannot prove my innocence...which is more frustrating...I have already cancelled the service from my bank so they cant take anymore money...not sure what the outcome of this will be....but like I said...I wont be paying for something I never did!
I have changed my phone line to BT (which takes place on the 28th) I am guessing that this internet will be cut off pretty soon...so I better hurry up and find another connection (as I have to blog, LOL)
I will write to them....but I wont be going back to them again...if the woman could of taken a moment to see the error...I probably would not have changed my service...but being so angry...I acted fast!
I feel a little better for doing that...but scared of what might happen now - how can I pove it wasn't me?

american on-line did that to me
i punished my daughter and cancelled the internet last year and they charged me $100 for some virus protection service. took it right out of my checking account and i bounced checks. i finally got it back but it was a real hassle

Take a deep breath
Set out a letter clear stating how the bill does not match your use..
Did they send you an itemised bill? If not ask them to check that they were looking at the right account? If this activity does relate to your account you need to sit down and list the acccount versus when you were there and not there.
You should also write to the bank and tell them that you have used both your phone and the bank account responsibly and that you have been charged in error. Don't worry about one stupid woman. Try to get to the bottom of this - go over all details , the telephone number they are referring to, your name address, details, the numbers called, thetimes you were there and not there and the sort code and number etc of the account they are taking funds from. Check everything over to see if you can find where this has happened.
