I have killed houseplants, kudzu, and cactus.
I'm astonished my vegetables had a bumper crop this summer.

I used to have some seriously HUGE houseplants
before I met Carl.  Since I met Carl, I can't make a houseplant live for anything!

The other two are on the balcony, the geranium I rave about, and a rosemary
plant which needs to be re-potted.

I have three plants, Whacky, two that I dote on, and one I completely

forget, because it was in a corner that I couldn't reach to water in my kitchen. I've moved it now, but I don't think it likes this apartment, the light is too strong or something.  It was given to me by my next door neighbor when she left. She didn't want to lug anything more than she had to down these stairs and I don't blame her. When I leave here, I'd like to just catapult things off my balcony down into the parking lot below.  (not that I would, but it's a tempting thought).

That is very funny about your friend's flower, I wonder how he took it when you told him?  Was he upset?

Have I ever killed a house plant? LOL...I should open a funeral parlor for them..The only kind that I am able to keep are dried or silk (and they have to be dusted)..I admire people who have green thumbs..Plus your right about ferns, just look at them wrong and they will die to spite ya..

Only by cutting it....

I have this stupid obsessive behaviour....if something is not symetrical then it bothers me so much that I have to do something about it....

the plant was lopsided one way, so I wanted it to match the other side...but sort of got carried away and ended up with a little bud....shame really cos the plant was one of those plants that never die had been in the family for years....I managed to kill it....it never grew again....I still feel bad.

I've heard that you're supposed to water ferns with mist. I've seen people do it before. They take a spray bottle and just spray a fine mist all over the leaves. I'm not sure if that would help, but I thought I'd pass it on.

That's funny. I probably would've just told him I killed it. I have a foxglove that I bought at Lowe's. It was getting heat stress, so I put it in the shade in the dead of summer. The next day it was wilted. I cut it back and all, but it never recovered. I decided to put it into another pot, and discovered that the drain plug was still in the one it was in. Oops. I'm watching it now, and wondering if I should just give up. Maybe that's what it's waiting for me to do.

Whackydotter!!

A great blog as usual luv. Yes, I've killed a couple of plants and I think I learned about the watering too finally.

Now I simply water all my plants on Friday's, and I put 8 drops of fertilizer in the jug of wtare every week. I use those little green fertilizer sticks too and my stuff seems to do well enough. Blah luv

Plants survive well under my care, but once I over watered a cactus plant and the poor thing died.
