TVBlogger - it is amazing isn't it?
Freedom of speech is a funny thing. Everyone pays lip service to the ideal but upholding this ideal in the face of a divergent opinion seems very difficult for everyone. With no one exempt from this difficulty. For some folks, the notion of freedom of speech being coupled with the rights to freedom of religious expression is akin to teaching chipmunks to tap dance......the necessary cognative skills and level of comprehensiion to consider the rights of others pertaining to these things simply doesn't exist within their abilities.

Yeah, you're right. I guess they've just stopped commenting. I did so love
the off the wall comments, though. Oh well. Happy Thanksgiving, Gome. :)

Wow
You are an amazing blogger that just your presence and voicing of an opinion in your own little corner would drive others away.. But don't get too angry with those who don't understand free speech. In the U.S., our news organizations don't even understand it and they are supposed to be on the front lines. The CBS Evening News now has a segment called "Free Speech" where they invite various people, mostly public people, to give their opinion on a subject. They invited Bill Maher to do a segment. He said he would love to do it and said he would be discussing religion. He was told he would be sent a list of acceptable topics. If they don't get the concept of free speech, how is the average citizen going to get it. We live in sad times.

Schatz - these folks haven't stopped reading things that upset them
They seem incapable of such minor self discipline. I know this because they routinely slander me amongst themselves, quite often referencing my blog content.....but I must agree that much of, if not most of what anyone writes expressing a religious opinion will inevitably become preaching to the choir. Mind you, I enjoy the interaction with those of like mind, I can say (or hope) that I am capable of considering opinions of others that I find reasonable but who amongst us can truly claim to be open minded?

Odysseus - this morning is a grand morning for countless reasons
The most important reason being that I am upright, breathing and enjoying a beautiful day leading into a holiday weekend where we are all compelled to reflection upon how good things are and how great our lives are. It is Thanksgiving weekend in Canada.

cantey_1975 - I think the thing that surprises me most is how some folks
take what I have written.
Quite often manufacturing non existent implications or completely missing the point. Where this sort of thing is bound to happen to some degree in any internet medium relying solely on the written word, I am still surprised in what some folks derive from my words with the added influence of their own bias.

SuccessWarrior - that was an entertaining comment
and there are lots of Christian blogging sites where everyone praises the Lord and hallelujahs abound. It really all boils down to some folks inability to concede to the rights of others. They simply cannot grasp the concept of others having as much right to voice their opinions as they have.

I think I know what's happened, Gome...
they've all taken each other's and our good advice and stopped reading things that upset them. So now you're left....preaching to the choir, as my best friend says when we get all wound up talking about this kind of stuff together. BUT, that said, I don't think you should stop posting. I enjoy the information you present, and often I get a good laugh either out of your posts or the comments of others (...put on big boy underwear. That made me laugh out loud) Have a great weekend.

I missed the memo. Do I have to quit posting in this category now?
You know what the whiners should do? Get Blogit to create a Christian category and let the Christians decide who gets to have a blog in the category.
The thing is, that service has to be out there already. There have got to be hundreds of blog sites out there where Christians get together in order to block out logic and reason.
I think if you come to a place like Blogit that has about 30 categories, you have to put on the big boy underwear and grow up a little bit.
