The whole "honor" killing notion ranks right up there
with female circumcision for ruthlessness and savagery. It's done by males out of fear -- if one woman is allowed to marry a man she chooses instead of the one the families want to arrange -- others will want the same privilege. If women take one step forward, men's hold over them will come undone.
