fear only cripples, it does not aid anyone. I too, wrote a post recently about how I felt it was wrong to lay our fears on the shoulders of our small children . Life is full of things that can hurt them, but fear will not combat any of those external threats.

Kooka, I must admit I had to do a google search to find out what

a "hell house" is.  Just the name is enough to give me an idea, but of course I had to find out the whole story.  And from that angle -- scaring people into salvation -- I see your point; however, I question how many true Christians come to faith in Christ out of fear.

In my google search I came across this parody.  Perhaps you've seen it?  Gullible me -- at first I thought it was for real, but it didn't take me long to figure out that it was quite a creative work of fiction. Enjoy!

What I would be laughing at would be how anyone could take such B.S. seriously.  I have read some of the scripts for Hell Houses and they are just about the biggest load of B.S. you can find. The joke is that these people who set them up might actually believes it.

The only people I have very known in my life who resort to such threat have been Christians.  That is why it would be my first thought upon seeing someone do such a thing.  You really should read the rest of the post thought, since it does not really bash Christians.

Kooka, I did not finish reading your post -- so turned off was I --
to assume that the woman was a Christian because of her threats is so asinine it blows my mind.

Laugh?

in a hell house? Oh you mean laugh at its concept which comes from Christianity? The implied message of the whole thing that may or may not be imbedded intentianally which consists of Christian teachings of torture, despair, and doom if one rejects Jesus Christ?

I would not waste the couple of bucks for admission my friend. There are certain Baptist churches, possible in your area, that preach nothing but that. Go laugh in their faces. At the very least it will give them a jolt.

Because we allow them to! If we did not allow them to use fear
they could not use it. Keep writing,  faholo

I would never take my boys to one.
Although I would like to go to one on my own and laugh through the whole thing, correcting all the errors that are being made.

please never consider taking your kids to a Hell House. It frightened the crap out of me when I was about 7 years old. I dont remember who the moron was that took me there, but it certainly was not my parents. I will never forget it.
