So sorry to hear of this. I've dealt with this myself - it is an extremely hard thing. I wish I could make up a word that would go on long walks with you, and squash your feet and... but I can't - not yet anyways.

This brought tears to my eyes.
It is easy enough to say and know logically that the dog must be put down but it's not that easy for the heart to let go. In the end, you must do what's best for the dog. If you keep him here, you'll agonise over him being in pain. If you let him go, you'll have to grieve. I sympathise with you - the thought of anything happening to my little Sox is too much to bear - All I can really do is send good thoughts.

SYMPHONY, I have no idea what you should do, it's a hard choice.
It always comes down to this, I guess, with pets, in the end, having to say goodbye before you're ready. My heart is with you, and I can't stop crying myself, just reading this. Take care of yourself.
