for something really quick and easy, divide the class into three sections
and get them to sing "row, row, row your boat" in a round.  i bet they'd really enjoy that.

Nana,
there is a book with simple science experiments for kids of that age group, which they might find interesting. The author's name is Jean Potter, and I believe the title is Science for Kids, or something similar. You might find it in your local library.

Improv theater?  Or perhaps they're too young for that.

Nanaroo, Give each one an object that they are not familiar with and tell them to make up a story about it.   Then, try to keep from laughing.

Kids like to talk about their pets.
Training a pet. Care and feeding.  Etc.

BC
that's a good idea- I think I will do some script hunting!

You could do it in groups of five and let the rest be the audience!

BC
yes, that has been very high on my short list!  Thanks!  The reason I haven't done it yet is because there are so many of them and it's hard to find a script with that many players. (Like 25)

You could bring in a script and assign them each a part... make it like
a play?
