Wiley, I'm printing this post out now and will send it
to him in a card (my parents refused to let me get them a computer.) TODAY!

How we feel about people changes day to day, so that road is infinite.
What every parent wants is to hear that he or she did alright and has been forgiven the inescapable lapses.

Cynthia
Yes indeed, you must tell him this story, it will make his heart sing that you remembered. See, I know, 'cuz my heart sings the few times it happens. My Erin remembered something a few months back and sent me an e-mail, I was just ecstatic that one of them remembered something positive and happy about me. So tell your dad this story of the bicycle. Have a happy weekend luv.

Maj, I felt the urgency in your response.
I would hate to have him die and have him not know how I thought of him.

Tanga, Soon you'll be the dad with his hand on the seat for your boy...
I can tell from your posts and from your wife that you are a great dad.

Ginnieb, Good to hear from you too.
I've not been a very regular contributor to Blogit, but I love hearing from my old friends.

Lovely story

I remember when my younger brother got his first real bike. He was always more than willing to try new things. He jumped on the bike and started down a hill. All we could hear was him shouting "How do I stop!" He hit the fence, but was not hurt. A good laugh was had by all.

I am sure your Dad will love the story. You should tell him.
