In astrology... we find that people often take on the physical
charateristics of the sign that is on the horizon at that location at the moment of birth (called the Ascendent)... For instance a Libra born at noon might look more like a Sagitarrius, tall, slim  atheletic  (the sign on the horizon at that moment) than a softer rounder figure of a LIbra... and if one thousand babies world wide are born during that two hour period in that part of the world... they may have many similar features and personality traits... ...just food for thought...

I set up at a craft show in a town where I thought most of the people resembled one another. They were largely of Norwegian descent. One had a houseguest from sub-saharan Africa who had some tribal tattoos on his face and he looked a little different. m

I've had that happen to me many times.  People think they know me and they don't.

Julia. and Ariel, Of Mice and Men, lol, I think Steinbeck may have been
on to something.  How about The Mouse That Roared?   Ariel,  some people may give rats a bad name!

A famous bit of dialogue from a James Cagney film ( maybe a bit before your time! )

" Hey! I ain't that kinda rat!"

" What kinda rat are yer?"

" You dirty rat!" was a feature of Cagney films. And when he mashed a meal into a woman's face ( I forget who ) in a film .. shock horror! Sensation! End of World as We Know It! how times change, eh? Nowadays an audience wouldn't bat an eyelid if she was the meal!

Looking around the world today, one wonders what percentage of DNA/genes we share with rats.

Makes yer fink, dunnit?

Julia., after I read this this morning, I read the newspaper, and saw an

article on genetic mapping.  Paul Allen has funded a huge project to map the human brain genetically.  I wish I had a better understanding, of genetics, because it seems that with all the genetic variation in the world, that we would be as unique as snowflakes, but somehow there are so many similiarities and "types" it is odd.

Something to think about, I guess. Genetics is fascinating.  Did you know we share 99% of genes in common with mice? How strange is that?  I mean, it's only that 1% that makes us so different.

I once saw a guy across the road, and I was sure I knew him from somewhere ; and he thought the same. But when we met, we were neitherLOL.

The Germans call such doubles doppelgangers, don't they?

Faces are not unique. I'm unsure about the personalities. Maybe there are also definite types of personalities?

Have you  read my blog?

very interesting thought and perhaps theres some truth to it. But I'm pretty sure there arn't thousand's from my mold LOL thats down right scary. All joking aside we arn't as unique as we think we are, and yet we sure have a hard time understanding each other so I guess we arn't too similar either.

I have a hobby of placing faces this way. Police say that if you can tell them who the perpetrator looks like, that they have a much better idea who they're looking for.

Didn't know them from Adam. Strange, to be sure. You may be right. About the molds I mean.

Mine too! If someone were to say to me, "Don't I know you, I think I saw
you on tv", I'd be much more flattered than if they said, "Hey, I thiink I saw you robbing a liquor store". Although, in either case, I shouldn't be flattered or offended, since it wasn't me they were talking about anyway.

Julia., I used to get that, when I lived in Oregon.

I think there may have been a woman who looked very much like me running around, sort of my Doppelganger or twin. I think she might have been having all kinds of adventures and people would think that was me.  For example, they might have seen her roller blading in the park (something I've never done and probably won't), and assume that it's me, and that I rollerblade.

On the downside, maybe she turned into a bank robber. I'd hate to get tagged with that identity.

Genetically, there may be so many looks, there are definitely "types".

A great game with friends is to play Lookey-Likey for points. Not entirely
relevant, but there are people that look very like others and you can spot them on a daily basis if you have your eyes peeled.
