Don’t sell yourself short, Symphony. There is still time to achieve dreams and even create new ones should you chose to. Sure…. some of the dreams you had as a youth may have escaped you due to circumstances but you’re creating a childhood for your children and that in itself is certainty a virtuous undertaking. (I know – I did it for my daughter). Sometimes as “adults” we surrender – thinking there a fewer forks in the road or less time to pursue a dream. Your words – your writings – do not seem to be the thoughts of a woman who will acquiesce to the ticking of a clock. Resurrect and embrace that vibrant, forward thinking youth you referred to!

Thanks so much for your comment....I am so pleased that you are happier now....I guess I am happy too, but there are some things I would have liked to have done in life...but are too late to do now....I can't do anything about those things now.....but I hope to achieve some of the things that can be possible....I just need to grow some confidence or something....

I'm sure you will be able to do everything you set your mind to. You made it through an awful childhood, and you are succeeding now, so you can do anything!!
And no, for me, I wouldn't go backward one day in time. I'm happier now than I ever was before. My childhood pretty much sucked. But, like you, getting through it made me stronger.

Steeler-fan, thanks for your comment....I had an awful childhood.
it was only dreaming my dreams that blocked out everything that was happening to me as a child...I should maybe of said the teenage years of being free....I had my own flat at the age of 15 years.

This is really a great post....
I unfortunately had all my dreams and aspirations ripped away from me when I was a child, and never got to feel like a free spirited child. I would never want to go back to any of that, but you are right, that was really a great time for a lot of people and I bet they would love to go back to that day....

Keep the faith -
I won't believe that we can't change our futures. I only realised what I actually want from life after staying in the bank for 13 years. I'm now working to get my writing career launched. It's getting there slowly but surely. A quote from the movie Ever After sums it up - "It's never to late until you're dead and, even then, I'm sure God negotiates."

Yes, I sometimes look at my children
and wish I was in there shoes so that I can live my life all over from scratch. I understand exactly what you are saying and where you are coming from. The best thing that came out of it though is that people/parents like us will not let our kids go through the same thing we went through and that we will do anything in our power to prevent any sadness or dissapointment!
In terms of your goals that you never reached or given up reaching just remember the following:
"Inside you have the potential to achieve the impossible"!
