Sunnybeach7 - the funniest part about it was that the person telling me
this was dead serious.
He was also one of the nicest people that ever came through this place. He proved this to me after I had to dress him down a bit for constantly talking such crazy stuff to me. My words went something like: "you can be as crazy as you want but I have to ask you to leave me out of your religious delusions" ..... He had no problem with that and switched gears into normal dialogie from that point on. I was fairly impressed with that.

Schatz - a funny thing happened to me recently here on Blogit that
illustrates your point.
Two people that I have never seen eye to eye with were talking about me. I had just blocked one of them for constantly leaving personal, sarcastic and insulting comments. The one person said: ......"I was just about to leave my usual sarcastic remark when I found out that I was blocked....." ...then the other person added: "He sounds like he can't handle a different opinion"......There are lots of people in life that can't see past the ends of their noses. The maturity that it takes to realize that everyone has the same rights and freedoms is a level of growth that some people never attain. They are still stuck in a simplistic and juvenile reactionary mind set. Not letting these people bother you, though much easier said than done, is also a level of maturity that some never attain. Little people will always be with us. I am just grateful that they form into little cliques of like minded people and with a little luck.... limit their interaction amongst themselves.

Haha, that's a good one....whoever thought that one up is a genius, aye? It's no wonder then that I haven't seen him either.
Oh, I knew about the all sins being equal...ya know, if you're a mass murderer, it's the same thing as that lie you told your mother when you were 5. But ya know what...it's all good! Just ask God for forgiveness, it doesn't matter how many body parts you've had lying around your home, or buried in your back yard.

cantey_1975 - me too, at least the general computor literacy that one
picks up from blogging has turned out to be invaluable.

Talion - you sound like a candidate for my new web forum
I started it just a few days ago and it is for anyone who wants to ask questions regarding building web sites, HTML coding or whatever.

The most valuable thing I've learned on Blogit is that if you don't like
someone, it doesn't mean you can't respect them, but the reverse isn't true. If you like someone but they behave in a way that is disreputable, you can't hang.
"What I Wish I Had Learned On Blogit" will be the name of my next post. Thanks for the inspiration.

Yep, our huge circle of friends is yet another thing that I have to thank Spain for, 'cos we sure didn't have that many in Britain.

My social circle is so small that it doesn't actually make a circle
I have more of a social crescent.
Okay, not even that. I don't socialize with anyone but my wife, son, dog, and sometimes the cat. We are going to go on a double date with one of my wife's friends and her husband in December. Maybe then I'll have a crescent. =)

My social circle is relatively small, being comprised of a select few folks that can stand my presence....

ariel70 -- it's funny, I can say that the most valuable thing I have
learned from Blogit is:
How the site works from playing with the code behind the blogs. That is of course aside from gaining the perspectives of others, some of them views that I would never be introduced/subjected to in my small group of real life friends.

The answer to your question is ... er ... well, actually ... not very much.
Mind you, I have had a lot of my preconceptions confirmed/refuted. Oh, and met some nice folk too, so it can't be too bad, can it?

I've learned that the sooner the 70% of us that aren't Christians
see the light, the sooner we'll have world peace.

I've learned it takes much more than a computer and a credit card to be a writer.
