I don't know whether or not I'm a fan of Madonna...
she seems to have talent and imagination, and I've read that she does good stuff for underprivileged people now and then. But she seems to lack an awareness of boundaries. Whether or not she is a Christian, she must know that a substantial portion of the buying public are followers, and that it's an insult if not a mockery to hang herself on such a symbol. Seems a bit self-destructive.

good for NBC for showing some common sense..or if they were pressured
into it, I still say "good"! If Madonna wants to do this sort of thing I'm sure there's a cable station waiting with open arms....

It's called public pressure.....

What's the difference between this and Clinton's attempt to have the entire ABC movie about his failures before 9-11 pulled?

NBC is not a cable network....it's on the public airways and it is subject to the controls of the FCC.

Corbin,
for once, good taste prevailed! Now, for an encore, maybe Madonna could retire...

Corbin
That is progress. I can not imagine anyone doing that to any religion. All those who talk about how 'us Christians' are should simply think if they want their mothers disrespected, etc.. To Christians, born again Christians, their faith is by far the most important thing in thier life. It is not that we want to devalue others who don't have it we don't want others disrespecting it. Thanks Corbin for bringing it on.

This seems weird to me but maybe it's just me
These people want to watch Madonna but they want to tell her how to choreograph her act?
