this will be a very interesting electorate that heads for the poles in this mid-term election . I hope they have their thinking caps on, and are asking themselves some of those good questions of yours. Its hard to be accurately informed with so much hogwash floating around out there trying to get into our brains, but it pays to at least try to be an informed constituent before one casts their little vote.

Justi....

The problems you mention are not new to the world because of American politics.  Since the first cave clan decided to choose a chief by a method other than a club.....corruption entered into the mix.  Because man can think and has free will to do almost what every he wants.....there is always going to be corruption enter into the mix.

Did not corruption play a role in the crucifixion of our Savior?

Even organizations that profess to be working for a new way of doing politics are corrupt in their own ways......you have to do the best possible, based on what you have to work with, and strive for the best outcome under the circumstances.....

Sometimes.....actually most of the time.....it becomes a "lesser of two evils" decision.

At least that is above board. Ours wins the same way they just use far larger tickets, like hundreds of millions of dollars to win.....

Sorry cannot comment
on American politics. In Africa the party that has the most T-shirts to give away normally wins the elections

Good stuff lady. I agree we need some molds broken. I think it is not only the upper level but also the lower level both that receive the greatest attention and it is the inbetween that is getting shoved out, the layer that pays the taxes, makes the living for themselves and the strata below. Yes we need new blood, new rules, new goals.

So astute of you. I am not surprised, smart lady. People have no trouble complaining or shouting out their preferences of any of this off the cuff unless they are thinking (me responsibility, choices that last) then it looks like another level all together. We need to answer these questions often and especially before voting time.

I agree - heavy questions that need pondering
Timely, thought provoking post Justi. My immediate reactions are someone who is truly devoted to working on issues vital and necessary for the masses - all segments, not just the upper tier. Too few in either party seem interested in that, imo. Also I believe we need more political parties that can actually win elections - break the decaying molds, shake some thick dust free - attempt to clean up the stagnant system. It's very late, but you woke me up a bit here, lol. Thanks!

Whoa Justi
Those are some heavy questions.. GOOD ones, but not ones to be answered off the cuff. They're serious , thoughtful questions. Its very difficult to be a good and decent man in politics. its by nature a terribly corrupt arena, both sides equally, unfortunately
