I just looked at your profile and realize that you are a teacher too! Hey, I didn't know about the Lysol trick. I have been suspecting for some time now that bacteria is involved!

Nanaroo, Well, I was going to give you a real suggestion, but then I
bit my fingers...seriously, what I do on days like tha -- invariably Thursdays -- is spray Lysol anti-bacterial disinfectant spray on the carpet while they're at the cafeteria for lunch. It kills that extra bacteria that was making them squirrelly. Might be crazy, but it works!
