Saying Good Bye and Sending The Stuff is the best way.
What my ex S.O. (B.) did to all of my clothes, worldly posessions, yearbooks, photo albums, family jewelry and heirlooms, etc 17 yrs ago when I left him is unspeakable. Three yrs ago the good feelings were still there when he located me and made contact out of the blue. Alas, again I am done (for the spots never change, ladies) only this time with his most prized posessions now in my home. As tempting as the sacrificial burning ceremony is I would feel terrible about myself. He deserves it all back, at his monetary expense. Pay in advance, or the cheapest slowest way possible with receipts and tracking number will be used.
I will admit that I have pulled his clothes of the garbage after dumping them a few times only to stick myself with mountains of his laundry after feeling so guilty. If there was a fly on the wall watching I know I must have looked really stupid! It did feel really good to cut up one of his favorite dress shirts, though.

I guess I never really had this problem to the extent it went to a court order. Actually I have a better relationship with my ex's than I ever had while married...I like it that way. In the very beginning of divorce I would say I displayed some bad behavior, but I got over it in a month or so.

my ex has my antiques
when i moved out - i left several pieces of antiques furniture that IIIIIII had refinished. i was so tired on moving day that i asked him if i could get them another day. when i asked for them back he said - "anything you left is mine bitch". so i told him that if he ever has a heart attack or gets kiiled in a car accident i am going to steal my stuff back. he doesn't know that i still have a key to the house - what a dummy.
