No, she didn't shove me, Spitfire, I never would have stood for that
She just kept trucking her kid cart down the narrow aisle where I was standing and said, "Excuse me, I can't turn this". Uh-huh, okay, why did you bring that behemoth down this narrow aisle and what are you doing in the booze section with a toddler, Lady?

I Agree
More parents need to take personal responsibility and then there will be time to address other issues!!  Everyone should not have to police children!!  People need to police their own!!

Azur, but...
Just be careful. Feeding kids everyday can do more damage than good. They kinda start to get all, like, needy n' stuff. Ya know, like demanding to eat a few times A DAY! I know, I know, but it's true. I've seen it happen. My dogs are the same way.

Oh, Azur, I hardly believe that!

oh yea, my point...
Next time just kick the kid out and demand to be pushed around the store so you can pick up what you need :).

Be well,

Everybody who votes loves their kids.  And we all want to feel like we've influenced a maleable child in some way for the better.  So, unfortunately, in the world of politics kids have become nothing more than a hot button - something to manipulate our votes.

Good post

Most people have no idea how to interact with others....how can they teach

their kids??? I have a neighbor who went to a school for the gifted and belongs to MENSA. He also has a physical handicap from a stroke. We have always accepted his physical disability. It's his shitty attitude no one can take. He talks down to all of us.

He once told me that "the one good thing about my parenting is that my kids always know where they stand with me." WHAT?! The one good thing??? You have got to be kidding me. My kids are phenomenally good mannered compared to most of the kids I run across these days. I believe it's the thing most kids lack, as well as this adult who feels like because he is smarter (supposedly) than me, he can talk down to me any old time he chooses. It's mothers who use those damn Barney carts and allow their kids to wail all throughout the store who are throwing trash on the ground and cutting people off on the road. They can't teach what they don't yet possess....manners.

Oh, and by the way, I told my kids that they wouldn't be receiving any toys AT ALL for Christmas this year, since they have way too much stuff already. I think almost every kid in America today could use to hear that and see it actualized. My gods, if we don't overindulge their every whim, I don't know what we do.

I love your perspective. I, too, scoffed at these carts, until we used one. Now I love them. As for the tantrums, I don't tolerate them. I quietly pull him off to the side and remind him of the consequences.

You're kidding me, Whacky! OMG!
Thankfully, no. I haven't heard them. Yet. Yeeks. Salt to the wound!!

Your so right...have you noticed that those cart make a sound like the

distant rumble of thunder! Kind of creepy I think.

Wow, Azur. Do you feed them every day?

I know, Talion! Why IS that?
Sheesh.

Well it is all about them for me at the moment
it's all about putting a roof over their heads and feeding them enough to grow.

Claim you're doing something, regardless of how ridiculous, "for the children" and you instantly have the moral high ground. How could anyone oppose a stance based on the welfare of children? The anti-kid lobby loses every time.

Geez Blanche! She shoved you?
Oh, man! I don't think I could've handled that!

Spitfire, after I had that encounter with the woman with the kid cart,
I confused her by being nice to  her.  Her kid dropped her shopping list, while she was waiting in the checkout line, I picked it up and handed it back to her.  "Smile, it'll make people wonder what you're up to". (I didn't ask her that when she came cruising down the beer aisle where I was standing picking out an ale for me and MG, and shoved me out of the way, why she was bringing her toddler down the booze aisle anyway? Maybe Mom needs a mother's little helper?)

It looks normal to me. Maybe it's just you. hehe
