TVBlogger - I derive a lot of humour from these folks
I particularly find a bit of mirth in those who expound the values of freedom of speech while spending all of their waking hours attempting to censure opinions they disagree with. I also get a kick out of the people who attempt to utilize the words of the US Constitution, specifically the rights of freedom of religious expression, to impose their religious viewpoint on others. They have to be professional comedians, no one could write better comedy by simply being hypocrites .....could they?

Your post reminds me
of a scene in one of my favorite movies, "Saved!" In trying to "save" a classmate, a Christian hurls a bible at the girl and screams, "I am filled with God's love!" If these foaming-at-the-mouth proselytizers could see themselves in action perhaps they'd realize how unChristlike they are behaving. Anger, screaming, belittling... yeah, that's going to win me over.

sannhet -- that is my philosophy as well
It all begins with the concession that whatever I believe is only my opinion on the matter.

Gome -
The only way to live - IMHO - is to walk one's own path and worry about one's own self - unless asked by another.

SuccessWarrior - that's the problem
Far too many people are only too happy to tell me what is wrong with me and how they have the answers to cure all of my imagined ills. There is also the issue of the manufactured stereotype pertaining to non believers. All assumptions seem to be the same. If an individual does not believe in God, they are incomplete, lost and confused, while holding all of the character traits of Adolph Hitler.

Sunnybeach7 - if you can imagine, I have run into a few loonies in 3 years
on Blogit.
Brainwashing is a powerful thing. It allows some people to completely ignore their own behaviour under the guise of doing the Lord's work. With most, their actions are nothing more than imposing their own beliefs on others at the expense of those they insist that they are "helping."

With the enthusiastic ones, I'm happy for them
If they need something like that to feel whole and have found it, great. As long as they don't try to tell me what's missing from my life and try to fix it.

Just a "little bit" strange? LOL.
I actually think there is some difference. Some people really "believe" in what they are saying and are just enthusiastic about sharing it. I usually have no problem with these people. It's the others....the one's that seem that they want to control everything and everyone, and that you should believe them, just because they said so...that's the type that really gets to me.
