- Go to Green eggs and ham!
bloggers, thank you, these are great suggestions!!
I went to the library today and checked out a bunch of Dr. Seuss books. I almost had to fight a little boy for one of them but I let him win and waited until he was through reading it to his Dad. As he was going to put the book back, I said to him, "Hey, can I have that book now?"

When my daughter was 7
her class was having a reading challenge with another class. As her class room mother I organized a breakfast with the other class of "Green Eggs and Ham" I just added a little green food coloring to the scrambled eggs. It was a lot of fun and still one of my daughters and her friends favorite childhood memories.

My favorite Dr. S for inspiraiton is "Oh The Places You'll Go!"
My daughter loved "The Lorax" and one about the scary green pants with no one inside them...I can't remember the title to that one though!

Nanaroo, Ture memory. When I first saw and heard a reading book by Dr. S.
I was put off, not to say frightened I don't think, and confused. The teacher merely smiled, shrugged, laughed, and gave me another to read. I would have rather heard these words: "here is a creative writer who is only having fun with language. Isn't it fun?" I think that would have put me at ease, for not thinking that either, all writing should be this way and I'm not that creative, or whatever...

thanks! I'll get that one. I'm going to divide them up in groups of about 4 and have each group read a poem (after a little practice). They'll be so cute!
