SuccessWarrior - this is an excellent post and so right on
We can only imagine what little effort was needed for any given member of our species just 200 years ago to reconcile all that was written in the bible with the world around them. There were only a handful of inconsistencies to overlook, the collective knowledge base of our species back then had only expanded marginally from ancient times, or from the times when the gods were concocted. In the last 100 years, our collective knowledge base has grown exponentially, with it so too have the number of glaring inconsistencies as found in the perceptions of ancient man grown. It is a one way street. Scientific discovery and knowledge render the ancient holy manuscripts more and more redundant and with them; the godly constructs these manuscripts chronicle for us. It never happens in reverse. The bible or any other manuscript does not render discovery and the knowledge gleaned from it redundant.
