Azur, you want food and a roof over your head? Slow down! Don't ask for
moon and the stars! Seriously, I did go to .Dave's link, and listened to him and the other 2 Genius contributors. (I'm not sure what I think of Carol V's idea of cars on remote control, but I like the format of the show and the banter).
I think I'm actually living Dave's idea, unintentionally. Now if only I could really look at it like that.

There you go, but sometimes I think regardless of the outcome there's
something very liberating about casting your ideas out there, you may not get a catch but hey you didn't waste the bait.
Too cheesy? Need coffee maybe?

For life is quite absurd
and so it seemed to me when I sent an idea to the New Yorker but there comment made me smile and the tennis editor wants to hear about other ideas so nothing was lost

As soon as I read that, Monty Python's 'Bright Side of Life'
started up in my head.
Positive rejection, it's respectful acknowledgement, and who knows the name may stick in their heads for the future?

as long as someone is paying you to write, someone is paying someone
to read you, so it's really a double blessing that you got the new assignments. income always helps to take the pressure off the day-to-day. perhaps to also earn some pocket money for your birthday?

Positive sounds, sights and signs
Yes, food would be nice, but words of encouragement feed the efforts...:)

Great to read you again. And about the roofing work.
Thanks for listening to my dribble-drivel. Am waiting for the call from Gordon Brown to be signed up as a consultant for the solution to the UK's baby-boom pension crisis. They all listen to Radio 4, don't they?
Seriously, I enjoyed it. Hope you did too. I know you will have done, actually.
And it's great to read a smidgeon of hope flickering again for you.

Azur, hang in there. Something will turn up, it usually does.
often at the eleventh hour. I wish I could help but all I can say is you are doing all you can and sooner or later, someone will come along and give you a chance. A tennis holiday sounds appealing...let us hope you get it.
