Cindy, I am so proud of you and Rick!
Only when we look inward do we see truth. The gift of courage is given to all of us, you accepted this gift from God and allowed it to grow and strenghten you as you judged yourself rather than Rick. Love without compromise is difficult, but you have the faith, hope, love, courage and grace to persevere. God bless you, Rick and your family as you continue to walk in love without compromise. I placed a special prayer on my blog today. Place Rick's name and your name in the blanks and pray it often. Forgiveness frees you to do all God wants of you, it is your gift to yourself.   faholo

I see so much hope ...
in your admissions of guilt as well as between the lines of communication.  Yes, I see God working on each of you, too, and will continue to pray just as I said I would.

Your Journey...
While ever your heart is so open as yours is, only good can happen.

thanks ceemarie,
we are both getting individual counseling. Rick does not wish to pursue marriage counseling at this time. In fact, as of a month ago he wanted divorce and had a lawyer on retainer (now, he's backed off of that idea)...as of last week we were putting the house up for sale (now, he's asked me to hold off) He is just coming to terms with his addictions. He has pushed me away. But, God is definitely at work in his life and in his heart! I will consider what you said about doing things in love....you can never go wrong when you do things in love. It's working for me so far.

Cindy-
I will keep you in my prayers as well.   It doesn't sound too late; healing has begun.  We act out of one of two emotions; fear or love.  It's always best to approach every challenge with the question, "What would love do now?"  It is very empowering and what our Father would want us to do, to be the best YOU that you can be.
It will take time, but get professional help or go to your pastor.  We just went thru this last year and we're still working at it.  Marriage takes hard work.  Be kind, be patient, be love.
Cee
