You have realized the shallowness of sincerity. Most media outpourings are capitalizing on what sells, and what holds allure. Human suffering is a side line and often irrelevant.

Bel,
I agree. We need to remember all the victims, including all of our troops that have died because President Bush misdirected the rage from 9/11 to Iraq. I think they were also victims.

I did see a good memorial about the Pentagon. I liked Shanna's comment there are those who lost lives before and after by the hundreds because of terrorism. We must remember all of them without fail.

bel, good point...I was thinking that yesterday.."what about the Pentagon
tragedy? They were people too!"..

Bel
I hope like you, that they will never be forgotten.

Bel -
We should not forget them, nor those lost on the USS Cole, at the Embassies in Tanzania, Kenya or Beruit, nor those lost in Iraq or Afghanistan. Terrorism unfortunately is a wide and fast-spreading disease.

Passion
I do not believe God to be vengeful.  many, many good people died in both events and I just can't imagine God killing off people who could have changed the world for the better to punish others.  Very simply 9/11 was evil at it's core.

I went to church tonight...

We had a very moving service and prayer for all the families affected. I imagine the people in Mississippi feel this way too.

Everyone talks about the city of New Orleans being destroyed by Katrina, but nobody says anything about Biloxi or any of the Miss towns that were flattened -

I saw a recent show on the Miss Coastline and NONE of those towns that were destroyed have been rebuilt. They still lay in ruins with tall grass growing everywhere and nothing but slabs left.

So many people lost so much! It's hard to take it in when we see destruction on the scale of 9/11 or Katrina. Many people are saying that this is God's judgement on America bec of its sins.

I honestly don't know how I feel about this but if it IS God's judgement, I hope it's over.

They were as heroic if not more, Bel, they were the reason it didn't
land whrre it was supposed to, if I remember right.  I hope the memorial service brought you some comfort otherwise, Bel, I wish I'd thought to go to one.
