Dave--
I wracked my brain in search of a snappy comeback, but alas, you were gone so long I fell out of practice and...nada!! Oh well, I'll just say, "I don't think so."

Julia, you might be prolonged... When it reigns, it pours.

those are all good additions, thanks very much!

avant--
thanks. I agree with you, the "why" is much more victim oriented rather than solution oriented.

haha Dave--
I'm sure Ariala will reclaim her throne tomorrow, so this will be the shortest reign any "queen" ever had, like--one day!! LOL. But thanks for the flowers!!

Well, Zippedy-Do, the QuirkyQueen rules again. Be gentle with us oh great

o0o one of those $64000 questions.....I agree pretty much about the ripples....I think most people ask 'why' and not 'who' because we tend to very 'outward focusing' in looking at the things that affect out lives and I think this has its very roots in the very evolution of our species....if you think about it what effects us more than outside enviroment??? The answer right now is quite alot because we have evolved as a species and our internal emotional/mental universes have a complicated and dynamic relationship with the world outside...

Hello!

Julia
Nice. I think the 'why' is just a search for validation, in claiming to be a 'victim'.

I would like to add
a bit. The "Why" part should play second fiddle to "Who" and I think one can add "How". How can I make a difference? How can I solve the problem? How can I change in order to avoid the occurence?

Azur--
well, that is good in a way, because asking "why" will get you nowhere fast! LOL.

bel--
while I can understand your wanting to know such things, please read the last paragraph again!!

I have
no time to ask why, I only have time to do

posted by Azur on September 11, 2006 at 10:21 PM | link to this | reply

I also believe there is an order of things
I just wish sometimes I could understand the WHY to them.

hi artifact--
I think if you begin to ask the question WHO instead of why, you will find some great answers, ones that would never occur to you...

Very interesting post, Julia!
I'm one of the people who ask why.  I never had considered asking who.  Good suggestion!

I don't believe in coincidences, either.  One day I realized that my life is going to turn out one way - and only one way.  But I still have all the power of choice over every moment, and I have since been living in awe of that idea.

Great post!

hello afzal--
I'm not sure I understand your choice of the word dynamic and how it fits here, but I appreciate your visit, and thank you for reading!

It's incredible how interconnected we all are.
I remember when I lived with five other housemate (yeah! Crazy.) This guy friend of ours said something very surprising, but true: "You guys are, like, co-dependent." Shocking. We didn't realized that, but we really were.

Hmmmmm, I gotta think about that!

I was just in the bedroom playing with the Furby's - they're really a trip!

Yes, we need to be dynamic like you suggested.
Nice thought provoking post .
