What a shame. I have heard so many stories of lives ruined that day, yet they never lose their impact for me. 
As for not speaking to his wife, I think that is the natural order of things. I am sure my husband has not spoken to the widow of his best friend's wife since the funeral over a decade ago. His best friend died of an aneurism after working out during lunch. (They had both been lifting heavy weights for quite a long time. Total shock.)
I agree that two wrong do not make a right.

It will never be "made right"... I say we just add another big bomb and drop it off over the whole middle east. End of story.
