I understand what you're referring to. Posting in a public forum exposes oneself to others' opinions. Some people will never see eye to eye. So I see no point harping on disagreements.

I'm very patient, rarely feel the need to prove to someone I'm right, and I don't particularly like arguing. When confronted by people like this, I let them have their say, smiling and nodding as if their words are the gospel, then do whatever I wanted to do anyway. Eventually they'll figure out I'm not paying a bit of attention to them and move on to prey on someone else.
